IntroductionThe TI-89 contains the power of the TI-92+, though in the normal handheld design. This allows the calculator to be used on alot of the highschool and college bound tests. Model Specifications
Checking ROM VersionIf you would like to see which ROM chip your calculator came with, press the following key sequence: [F1] [A] There are several different ROM versions for the TI-89, below is a list of them: 1.00, 1.05, 2.03, 2.04, 2.05, 2.06, 2.07, 2,08, 2.09 Programming LanguagesThe TI-89 can execute BASIC, Assembly, and C programming languages on the calculator. TI-BASIC is the only language that you can write onto the calculator, ASM and C has to be written on the computer, and compiled, before the calculator can execute it. To program in C, you will need to read up on the TIGCC compiler, and the tutorials that come with it. Warning!! Please note that while an assembly/c program is being executed, it has the potential to crash, and wipe everything off of your calculator. Also, if you are not careful, when the assembly program crashes, it could be fatal for the calculator.
