  • Introduction

The TI-73, like the older TI-80, is designed for middle school classes, but features flash-upgradable ROM like the rest of TI's newest calculators. It also improves upon the TI-80 with additional statistics functions and a link port for transferring programs and other data.

    Checking ROM Version

If you would like to see which ROM chip your calculator came with, press the following key sequence:

    [2nd] [0] [1]

There are several different ROM versions for the TI-73, below is a list of them:

    1.3004, 1.3007,1.40, 1.60, 1.70, 1.80 1.90

    Programming Languages

Originally, the TI-73 was programmable in BASIC or in asm in the form of a flash app, that had to be signed by Texas Intruments. Now, asm itself is supported in the form of a shell called Mallard, using a similar technique of hacking a backup file of the calculator that the TI-82 and TI-85 programmers used.

    Warning!!
Please note that while an assembly program is being executed, it has the potential to crash, and wipe everything off of
your calculator. Also, if you are not careful, when the assembly program crashes, it could be fatal for the calculator.
Use extreme caution when programming in the assembly language.
